Model / Calculator Assumptions:

MERV 13 Filtration - Model assumes efficacy on the first pass of air across MERV 13 filter assuming that the virus is between 60-140nm. The model also assumes that the existing AHU is capable of adding the additional pressure drop of the MERV-13 filter. This assumption must be verified for each project/AHU. 

HEPA Filter - Model assumes efficacy on the first pass of air across HEPA filter assuming that the virus is between 60-140nm. The model also assumes that the existing AHU is NOT capable of providing the additional pressure drop (0.75-1.0 inWC) of a HEPA Filter in the system and that the fans and motors of the AHUs must be replaced. Ultimate cost may increase/decrease depending on the actual installation of the filter rack/ductwork, etc.

PCO (Photocatalytic Oxidation) - Some air cleaners using PCO remove harmful contaminants to levels below limits for reducing health risks set by recognized cognizant authorities.

Some are ineffective in reducing concentrations significantly; manufacturer data should be considered carefully.
